Rio de Janeiro is the capital city of the State of Rio de Janeiro, the second largest city of Brazil. Rio de Janeiro is famous for its natural settings, its carnival celebrations, samba, Bossa Nova and hotel-lined tourist beaches. Rio de Janeiro became an attractive place for companies to locate when it was the capital of Brazil, as important sectors of society and of the government were present in the city. Rio de Janeiro is Brazil's primary tourist attraction and resort. The city sports world-class hotels, approximately 80 kilometres of beachland, and the famous Corcovado and Sugarloaf mountains.
