Palermo is a historic city in Southern Italy, the capital of the autonomous region Sicily and the Province of Palermo. Palermo is home to much of the region's main economic, financial, touristic and commercial life. The Palermo Airport is located at Punta Raisi, west northwest of Palermo. Palermo is one of the warmest cities in the Mediterranean. Palermo has a large architectural heritage and is notable for its many Norman buildings.
