Kuala Lumpur (often abbreviated as K.L.) is the capital and largest city of Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur and its surrounding urban areas form the most industrialized and economically, the fastest growing region in Malaysia. The tourism sector also plays an important part in the city’s economy. Kuala Lumpur International Airport (IATA: KUL, ICAO: WMKK), is located about 50 kilometres (31 mi) south of city. The Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur were the world's tallest buildings before being surpassed by Taipei 101.
