Frankfurt am Main commonly known simply as Frankfurt, is the largest city in the German state of Hesse and the fifth-largest city in Germany. Frankfurt has been Germany's financial centre for centuries, and it is the home of a number of major banks and brokerages. Frankfurt has an excellent transportation infrastructure, and the Frankfurt International Airport is a major European aviation hub.
