The Dominican Republic (Spanish: República Dominicana) is a nation on the island of Hispaniola, part of the Greater Antilles archipelago in the Caribbean region. The climate of the Dominican Republic is mostly tropical. January and February are the coldest months of the year, while August is the hottest month. The Dominican Republic has the second largest economy in Central America and the Caribbean.
